Notice To The Public

This graphic has a lot of story to tell. The word "xerox" has been misused for quite a long time now. This was misused anywhere even in the world of academe. The word "xerox" was not alone however. Along with it is the word "rugby", "kodak" and a whole lot more. Whenever somebody need an adhesive for longer use, they often look for a "rugby" or if somebody ask others to take a picture they often used the word "kodak" even if the camera they are using is of another brand. Well actually, this only happens here in the Philippines, in my surrounding to be exact.

But let's go back to the word "xerox". I presumed the misunderstanding has proliferated around the globe thus this graphic art was born. Not everyone is aware that the word "xerox" is indeed a BRAND! lol

Anyway, if you happened to be one of them, at least for now you are already aware.

So the next time you asked somebody to reproduce a document for you, use the right  and exact term. ☺

It's sad, but true. Many people use trademarked words as household names and don't realize they are not a generic term. Ex: http://writinginwonderland.blogspot.com/2011/02/trademarked-words-in-writing.html
I'm stopping by from the A to Z challenge and I look forward to reading more from you.
